Well, the proper Christian response would be to not really do anything to a gay man until he goes to bed with another man. The Bible only explicitly condemns intimate gay acts, after all.
Does anyone ever get the feeling that “born this way” just reduces to “I can’t help being gay boohoo don’t judge me”. I feel like asking people to pity you for being gay is such bullshit. like fuck that. if you judge me for being gay, fuck you. I’ll be super extra gay just to spite you. Like who cares if it is a choice or not. just let me be who I am and want to be.
While I agree with the second half of your comment about this not being anyone's goddamn business, the reason why the "it's biological, not a choice" defense came up, I think, is because of people who think you can force a gay person to be, or at least act, straight. Especially religious fundamentalists and such. Unfortunately there are still places even in the first world where people would try to "change your mind" about your orientation and such. Gay conversion therapy is still a thing, though to my knowledge at least they don't do the electro shocks anymore. I wish it wasn't necessary to keep reminding people that it's not a choice, but unfortunately not everyone is there yet.
I know and it’s why I’m so angry. Like seriously we shouldn’t need an argument that could reduce to pity to defend a person’s validity to exist. I understand why it is used, and I understand when another person uses it to defend themself. Heck I’ve used it before.
god does not condone a man laying with another man, it’s pure lust plain and simple

God, as in a monotheistic version, is just a concept developed by people who invented the "if you don't do what I tell you to do, I'll have my big brother beat you up" scheme.
Christians are pure comedy gold. They really ignore everything their holy book says as long as it's not fitting into their lifes while pushing their favourite bits of it on everybody else.

Well, to be fair, that goes for all religions and inside christianity there have been more reforms than among muslims and a large number of christians are pretty ok people, the WBC type is an exception. Richard Dawkins once called the Anglican Church a "low-threshold social club" and is friend with a few anglican pastors. Larger, influential groups of true christian nutcases are rare outside the USA.
Well, I know that there were plenty of reforms and dozens of styles to interprete christianity, but they all rely on the same book. I mean, it's all they have, this one book.
Every church (which by the way was called not necessary by Jesus in the very book) is just picking their favourite bits to prove their morals and shove them into other's faces. Especially those who claim to be "real" Christians, which for them means: churchgoers.
And yes, the US of A of course have a very special role in this, but that isn't really surprising. :)

Ok, being the privileged white european that I am, I totally forgot those small little places like Africa and Asia where there are plenty of highly influential and disastrous christian groups... mea fucking culpa...
