A quick Google search shows that they have significantly reduced homelessness, but not ended it by any means
According to Wikipedia, homelessness is reduced by about 35%
Yeah it mentioned it worked for 4/5 people. But something is better than nothing. Anywho, most countries should at least ATTEMPT something similar, don’t you think?
Everyone has their own beliefs about helping others. It's interesting to note that a little investment in mental health can pay dividends to society like this.
Agree with creative dragon. Significantly reduced is way better than nothing. Most people are quick to jump in the critics bandwagon or the all or none mentality that imo doesn't lead to anything. It is probably a better plan than what we have. We can give it a try and if we find flaws, fix those too. It's like people criticizing you do whatever you can for the environment because you can't do it all. Well shit I rather most people do at least the minimal than nothing at all.
Cut the cost of living, encourage self-driven attitudes, reward those who create opportunities to others. I don't understand how those ideas still haven't been used by the government.
I love how I got a downvote with no opposing thoughts posted. Wow.
The mentally ill makes sense but by choice? There is an individual in my town who is homeless by choice but I have a hard time understanding a majority of people choosing homelessness in a place as big as America.
They're mentally ill and decide to be homeless by choice. The two are more connected than you think. Drug habits and addictions also play a factor in staying homeless.
Hmm, that's new to me. My town is fairly unique with it's drug problem and homelessness. We give the majority of drug addicted individuals here free houses and allow them to take illegal drugs legally so my experience is very skewed from yours.
It worked in Finland
Ergo it works in every other country, right?

If it's from voluntary donations, sure
