Lack of necessary oxygen. However, if we could increase the percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere we would be able to see all kinds of neat things. Beings that rely on exoskeletons would be able to grow much, much, larger.

We already eat shrimp, crabs, lobsters and, yes, their close cousins, scorpions. The only problem mankind would come up against, if facing giant scorpions, would be supplying the increased amounts of drawn butter.
