Huh, so that's where we adopted chips for both from, thanks Australia

As an Australian I will clarify. We bloody love chips, all chips. Also carpenters in Australia are known as Chippies, not even joking.

We call them Chips/Wafers.

as an Australian, there's chips and then there's chips, it depends on the connotaion as well as the inflection of the word when pronounced that determines whether you mean chips, or chips
