I didn't intend it as an anti-trans joke. More a Diogenes joke but I can see how it could be interpreted like that.
Should I take it down? I honestly thought it was funny but the reactions aren't that great.
If someone comes out as trans and tells the world their new name and pronouns, why would you deliberately ignore that? Or did you not know he came out?
I think you mispelled Elliot. And given that he also uses they/them pronouns as well as he/him, you did just inadvertently call him by his pronouns. Now was that so hard?
Let me put up a hypothetical for you.
Say someone introduced themselves as a man, and for several years you address themselves as a man.
But then you find out they’re biologically female. What do you do? You don’t know them by any other name.
Just randomising it?
You do realise that even if you believe they have some sort of mental illness that it’s incredibly rude. I personally believe it’s a bit of a hormonal imbalance that causes someone to feel more masculine or feminine despite their bodies.
I'm not calling people by their pronouns, there is no law for me to do so therefore I'm not gonna do it. Male and female are the only genders you can't swith to the opposite at any given time it's against the laws of science.
It took me a while to discern the difference between when people were talking about their gender vs sexuality, and honestly I don’t agree with having weird pronouns that go beyond non-binary, but if you said your favourite colour is black, and people around you were like “black is a shade not a colour, you aren’t allowed to have that as a favourite, I’m going to say your favourite colour is yellow” then you can see why it would be hurtful.
I’m a girl that identifies as a girl, but if I were to one day realise I felt better being referred to by a guys name I would appreciate if people could respect me in feeling better about myself
"Against the laws of science" Fucking space was against the laws of science, the idea of the Earth revolving around the Sun was against the laws of science, the entire field of quantum physics was against the laws of science, the existence of other continents besides Europe, Asia, and Africa was against the laws of science. We found gravity and then made it our bitch, and you're having trouble calling a man by his name? Pretty pathetic if you ask me.
Also you should never pinpoint being a woman to being able to give birth. By that logic, infertile women or women without reproductive organs are also men. Also, there's so much more to biological sex than only your reproductive organs. The science is clear and conclusive: sex is not binary, transgender people are real, it has be proven by looking at their brain. Yes, science actually SUPPORTS a gender spectrum. Here's why, take your time, read into that, and even if you gain nothing out of it, at least stop dragging science into your argumentation.

Your other option to to Never Talk About Them. Which I feel would be much better if you in particular practiced.
