@mistoffelees that depends. Oceans can get that cold without freezing. You're both right, just using the wrong words. 26.42F or -3.1C is below the freezing point of pure water at 1ATM, no doubt. Even here, not two months ago it was -2F here in Dallas, which is -18.9C, and this summer it will most likely top 100F or 37.8C for at least a month, most likely three months... so the point @mrscollector making about those being pansy numbers comparatively is also correct. God what a shitshow that last freeze was... It's going to cost 10k to replace the pumps for my pool because there was no way I could cover the whole system. It took 4 days to thaw and as it did cracks formed everywhere. I didn't even try turning it on, as that would just cause a nightmare... and these are pipes I went out of my way to wrap up in layers of towels. I had to stay up resting totally under a blanket, using my own breath and body heat to warm myself because the power kept going on and off and I had to be up to

put the heat in overdrive when the power was available. I also moved a stove into the garage just in case, plan being if worst comes to worst a fire and warm area could exist and would vent into the attic and then outside.

Also running in hot temperatures is terrible because you'll feel even more hot

And considering the London Marathon is in spring, they will have all been training through winter so no time to become accustomed to the heat
