My 2nd youngest brother almost faced charges due to this simple fact.
His girlfriend was 17 my brother was 17 my brother’s birthday is in February hers is December.
So here is the thing she comes from A HUGE religious family. It was so bad her mom wrote down the girl’s periods. To make sure she wasn’t getting pregnant and she had to swear they weren’t having sex.
They WERE having sex.
My brother turned 18 and some time in may my brother was arrested for sex with a minor.
She was pregnant.
So he got out of it by 1 they proved they were in a relationship BEFORE he was 18 and 2 the kid wasn’t his. Yeah she cheated on him.
So all charges dropped.
So yeah be careful
Wow, that's messed up. And if the poor girl's periods had been as vastly irregular as mine, her crazy mother would have thought she was randomly pregnant and made her life even worse. I'm also sorry for your brother, that must have been quite something.
The family was rich and it was a small Texas town. They used money and connections to push the arrest of my brother. BUT they didn’t know my dad was a cop. So when my brother showed up at the jailhouse my dad shut that shit down fast.
They pushed to charge him with rape and sexual assault after. But my dad was smart and got my brother to show proof of a relationship that was 3 yrs old and my dad INSISTED on a dna test.
It wasn’t my brothers so charges dropped.

So little Mrs and me SUPER RELIGIOUS were a bunch of sinners. They were banned from their church (the main church in town) and everyone talked about them. They were forced to move and the “dad” was arrested!
We didn’t even KNOW who the real dad was till rumors spread though town.
Oh, yes that's true. My comment could be taken to be extremely insensitive to that poor girl's plight. I was in it for the tea, but I definitely feel terrible for that girl.

Then her mother (presumably) forces her to take part in having her boyfriend accused of rape instead, which results in the daughter being forced to take a paternity test that reveals (for better and worse) that the man that raped her wasn't her biological father all along -- and she has no idea who her biological father is, and apparently will never know because Mr stand-up guy doesn't come forward at all during all this, it seems

As a result of all this she is ostracized from her community - for some reason NOT taken from the mother's custody - and forced to move away with the woman who took part in tormenting her all that time.
Sorry forgot to add girl did get away from her parents she went to live with her grandparents who were actually really good people. They lived a town over.
Her grandparents were old hippies lol.
From what I heard she put the kid up for direct adoption to some family.
This was like 16 years ago as well. My brother is now 33.
