There used to be a service where you could use a landline to call a number where a voice would read your texts out loud

This still happens at my job, if someone accidentally sends a text to your office number. Cracks me up every time, so I sometimes do it just to mess with people.

can confirm it still exists; it's like a really weird confirmation that your phone is outdialing.
