Idk man, I know plenty of dudes who can't cook for shit because they expect their mom and later on their girlfriend/wife to do it. In my opinion, in today's (more or less) equal society both traditionally "feminine" tasks like cooking, cleaning, taking care of kids, and "masculine" tasks like driving and small household repairs/maintenance should be learnt by everyone. They're super useful, missing out on such vital life skills because "muh Patriarchy" or "wifey's gonna do it" is fucking stupid. Learn as many skills as you can, it's the most valuable thing in life.

Ah, the pillar of salt shows itself! Case solved ahahaha
Point is, many people nowadays can more or less do stuff like cooking and cleaning but can't do basic household repairs because they'd rather just call a repairman, but things like changing a light switch is easy and cheap. I felt like it too should be mentioned based on the context of the post and my personal experiences.
My husband is only slowly learning to cook since we been married. NO ONE taught him. Because they said “your wife will cook for you”?!?!?
Everyone in my family me and 5 brothers all know how to cook. Some are better than the others but still.
Boys and girls LEARN TO COOK!!!!
Same here. But after a while you find little tricks to help you and sometimes I find it soothing to just sit in a chair at the table and chop and prep my food for dinner.
People in Spain get shocked when I tell them I can cook, clean, and iron my clothes by myself because they don't expect a young guy to do all of that by himself. Then I tell them that I lived alone, so I had to all of that or I would live in shambles
