Meh, it was always fake. Photographers used to physically stretch wet film to make fashion models appear thinner, photoshop used to be a set of physical tools to alter photographic film and paintbrush was originally used to touch up pictures.

Absolutely. If you see what clothes did in the 19th Century nobody would dare that on Insta today.
