Lmao, good one. The people trying to silence any criticism or disagreement with "you're trying to cancel me, this is cancel culture" are the same tho, just sayin'.
How can so many americans not understand free speech? Free speech is the GOVERNMENT not stopping you from saying what you want. Private platforms (like facebook/twitter/etc) are not the government and can allow/edit/block whatever they want. People telling you to shut the fuck up isn't a violation of your 1st amendment rights.
Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction.
The United States constitution prevents the government from violating this principle in the form of the first amendment.
Just because the law doesn't specifically prevent private platforms from retaliating or censoring people based on their opinions and ideas doesn't mean that it isn't against free speech.
Then there is the whole legal difference between a platform and a publisher. Media platforms are not supposed to regulate what gets published. They get held in a different tax bracket/have to pay less taxes than a publisher. A platform that regulates the media content is then by definition not a platform. This does not include explicit content or content that is illegal by it's very nature. This is why platforms like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc.... have been called into congressional hearings. Of course proving they are intentionally removing content based on (fill in the political blank) is difficult since the companies are not required to keep that information and they "self" regulate.
If you don't like that company's platform feel free to not use them. I don't use Gab for that reason. And did you even read the 1st amendment (or any of them) Garlog? facebook/twitter aren't "arms" of the democratic party. Never have been. They are a business that makes money off the most use of their programs, hence leaving trump on after many, MANY violations of their own polies (violent coup attempts are the line apparently). "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." That means that congress cannot make laws about it, but private companies are not congress and do not make laws.
But they are the arm of the Democratic Party. Furthermore, they call themselves a platform while acting like a publisher. It ain't about just Trump, though him calling for peaceful dispersal and cooperating with Capital Police is somehow worse than actual racists and terrorists calling for real violence and terror.
Additionally, their "fact checkers" being bullshit, the platforms/publishers openly blocking articles and information that makes the Dems look bad, on and on it goes.
This isn't about Trump. If they want to act like a publisher, they can be treated like a publisher. If they want to be treated like a platform, they should act like a platform.
Me? I'm just not convinced that Biden's laptop was "Russian misinformation", that Trump is worse than ISIS or other proponents of genocide, or that a defacto Pravda is in anyway less terrible than an official one.
Especially in these trying times when Americans are held as political prisoners over a false insurrection narrative and the fucking AG can't justify why he sent the FBI to harrass parents taking issue with a school curriculum sold by his own son.

"facebook/twitter aren't "arms" of the democratic party."
I didn't say they were.
"That means that congress cannot make laws about it, but private companies are not congress and do not make laws."
I didn't say anything to the contrary.
I love this. This is actually a very neutral meme, this just makes fun of cancel culture. Doesn't matter if it's right, left, ect. You can boycott things, but anyone who goes out of their way to rip out someone's tongue, regardless of what they are saying, is the worst kind of passive aggressive
And for all those 'oh, but what about pedo's?' lawfully send them to jail, where they have to be held separate. Eventually a guard will turn a blind eye as the other inmates tear them limb from limb.
