If a 17 year old has a gun on a street, and he hasn't threatened anyone with it, should we still send a pedophile to try and kill him?
.
Answer:
Well he did have a gun, and he IS also white, so probably.
I've never understood that whole white argument from the west. Japanese are white skin toned, Chinese, Koreans, and Mongolians too; North of India has many white skinned Indians.
There's a lot of white south and central Americans, too.
It's just that too many bad people have too much money in trying to divide my people by color.
I've noticed that. It looks like at one point in this decade (2011 - 2021) the divide of the rich and poor became the White Vs Black. It's been rebranded, sensationalized, and made it about 'race' but in reality it's still the rich vs the poor. It doesn't help that the populace is easily manipulated or made to believe a lie; also people now don't even fact check and seek to win an argument, by any means necessary, going so far as trying to justify wrong things.
Pretty much exactly that.
.
For this case in particular multiple people even on this website have tried to claim that:
-because the riots supposedly started to defend black lives, any sort of opposition to those riots means you must be a white supremacist
-having white skin is the reason Kyle had a gun, a reason he is more prone to kill people, a reason he has gotten away with everything so far (what?), and a reason he should be convicted
.
The media have been foaming at the mouth to increase the racial division already going on and don't even care about the facts anymore these days
Seeing the media coverage and watching the trial have been like two different events
There's almost no relation between the trial itself and the stuff the legacy media have said about it
I want to know a little more about this case, can someone send me the link to a court case or video or something. (not CNN or Fox news please)
thanks :)
Your best bet is going to be looking up the footage of the actual trial. It's only the stereotypically right-wing sources that are being somewhat fair, with virtually the entire rest of the media trying to crucify Kyle in spite of the evidence and testimony.
Here's a sneak peak of how bad it is: The prosecutor tried to question Kyle exercising his right to remain silent. In front of the jury.
That's a day-0 mock trial no-no. And people are even trying to even reframe that as evidence that the judge is a white-supremacist or sympathizer.
@tpsquid I believe PBS streamed it, but I don't actually know where their videos are.
.
Alternatively, Here is one potential option that has covered the trial from the start [with commentary from a group of lawyers of various sizes]
https://youtube.com/c/RekietaLaw
.
However things to note:
-most of these lawyers have come to the conclusion that Kyle was acting in self-defence. They do still say when they think are good/poor arguements on both side, what they think jury perception is, etc
-it's not a sterile environment, they're bantering a lot etc, so if you're looking for a clinical assessment, it's not exactly that
-the trial videos are long. 7 - 8 hours sometimes.
.
Even recap videos so far are 1 - 3 hours at a time.
I would honestly suggest looking at the videos from that night if you feel inclined. Ignore any commentary from either side as much as possible if you feel that will help.
@famousone honestly that one was just like... wtf lmao. The judge also seems to have made up his mind already, cell phone calls and then tainting it by asking who served, conveniently knowing it was the only guy about to go up to testify. This whole charade is a mess from every possible angle.
edit: I'm not saying veterans don't deserve respect, ya'll do... it was just a really strange moment for the when of it.
It doesn't matter if the judge makes up his mind on guilty or innocent. The jury makes the decision on the verdict. The judge just decides the sentencing.
What's this about vets? I don't follow.
