We'd have to actually secure our borders and vet people trying to enter other countries, too. Otherwise even a perfect vaccine would quickly become obsolete.
Is there really a choice? The way people are being treated for making their "choice", it looks like they're on the path to being removed from society, or having that "choice" taken from them even more than it already has been.

If you don't get vaccinated you are not allowed to patron restaurants (who are not allowed to remain open for the most part if they don't force their employees to get vaccinated).

You are not allowed to travel. Most businesses won't let you through the door.

They are talking about denying medical care to the unvaccinated.

People are being fired for not being vaccinated and have no financial recourse.

Some are being literally kidnapped and put in camps.

The choice is literally becoming: comply with the government and maybe we'll give you a couple of freedoms BACK, or die in the street/a concentration camp

And if there's any negative repercussions down the road from the vaccine, well now. That's just too damn bad for you, isn't it?
People gotta draw a line in the sand. Choose a hill to stand on. Especially in my own country, The United States of America, where liberty and justice are supposed to mean something.
Karl, anyone who wants to make that particular choice can only hide in their basement. Unless you're telling me, without a shadow of doubt, that there will be no long-term repercussions to the vaccine, that there are no threats or coercion around them, and that it actually works to prevent people from catching and spreading the disease, better than natural immunity or any single person's immune system could.
