Oh it's much easier for me. They just show up from out of nowhere, get panicked by absolutely nothing and start flying, then they hit the ceiling fan and land right next to my feet, completely lifeless
Just fill a bottle with 3 parts water 1 part dish soap.
Spray them, and it'll kill them almost instantly. It forms a viscous surface over their air holes, and they suffocate.

Not sure how larger, hissing cockroaches would fare, but the common pest roach won't stand a chance.
