Being that the question is open ended and the reader could be any gender, it’s not really a gender question. The fact that they specify that it is a woman looking for help could be read as an appeal to gender, in situations where a person could be perceived as needing help etc. or situations dealing with strangers most people are more bias to trusting females because they tend to be perceived as both more needing of help/less able to help themselves; as well as being less of a threat or potential for threat. That’s said the fact is that in most societies a female or one perceived as feminine wouid generally be more at risk of being followed by a random stranger for reasons beyond their control. So we could also argue the use of female gender was a reflection of that. I think that helping a person should maybe have less to do with their gender and more to do with the particulars of the situation and persons involved.

I'd do this for a random male as well. They might not be entitled to help, but damn if i'ma have if on my conscious if they get hurt and i could have easily helped.

I think the second guy was mistaken, she wasn’t approaching him—she was approaching someone else to avoid him.

Lol. Nice. Yeah, the guy answering the question sounds more like the one who would be following the woman.
