That's EXACTLY what I was going to say.. Do you have ANY idea how expensive aggregate is? +40% increase in cost over last year is why concrete went up so much!
The phrasing on many pills is ambiguous to wether you gain an ability or a single use of an ability- eg: can you control any toaster only once for each pill you take…?
Assuming you gain the ability- teleport 7” is EXTREMELY powerful. Teleportation is instantaneous by definition this means a few things.
Firstly, it means that no time is used in travel. That alone has several interesting implications. For starters- by almost any interpretation this means that time does not pass for you while traveling this way.
It also means that you do not need to predict where something will be in order to teleport to or from a moving object. The action occurs before the object can move unless it is moving at extremely high speeds like light speed. More on this in a moment.
Of course many walls and such are less than 7 inches thick, allowing one to potentially teleport through walls, and no restrictions exist for like of sight etc. obviously instantly moving 7” gives one a huge potential edge…
.. in most sports and in person to person close range combat. Where this power becomes very OP is in that of one can teleport 7” on command at will- the distance DOES matter because you cannot bypass any barrier greater than 7” which prevents survival- but you CAN teleport 7”, then teleport another 7” and repeat. Since the teleportation and travel is instantaneous, the only delay is in the time it takes you to teleport- you’re limited by human reaction speed- which for a thought is believed to be approaching light speed. In other words, through a series of short jumps you can move huge distances. You can basically avoid any object that might travel at you that wasn’t measured in lightyears of distance.
Because travel takes no time, the only times you experience the passage of time are when you are not teleporting. In other words, if you walk from where you are to a point that takes one year of travel to reach, you will age one year. If you teleport that same distance 7” at a time,
time will only pass for you while you are initiating your next teleportation. You will experience a fraction of a second instead of a year. If you were to simply replace walking with teleporting in daily life- teleport to the printer instead of walk, teleport to the shower and then to your towel and so forth- you would vastly extend your longevity.
Of course things get subjective and weird. We don’t know alot about teleportation and this doesn’t tell us the “rules” applied- so for example- can you bring objects? Do your clothes move with you? If you were wet, would you be dry when you teleport as the water stays behind or if it is contacting you… what defines “you” for the purpose of teleportation? Would you instantly be clean and free of dead skin cells? Would the water in your body or fauna in your guy stay behind? Do only things with your DNA teleport or…?
So that could go a lot of ways and it’s left open to our interpretation. But take this example of how OP this could be- if teleportation does not preserve your momentum- then that is closer to our current understanding of quantum teleportation- you are not technically moving- your information is being imprinted on quanta at the destination and the previous “you” and it’s information are destroyed. There are philosophical debates there- is the teleported you really you? Do you die blah blah- but ignore that. You’re identical. That means time DOES stop still- no cellular reproduction. An exact copy of the way you were when you teleported. But because your information is being imprinted on quanta from the local system, you keep the state of that system. In that interpretation you could teleport onto an airplane without worries.
It opens all sorts of crazy doors for travel and things you could do. Teleport out of a moving car and be fine etc etc. If we take an interpretation that your momentum is not to the state of the local system of that system is different from yours- if you teleport into a moving aircraft or car you’ll likely be smashed into goo instantly. So that isn’t so good for travel but it does create some ingesting possibilities for messing with physics by leveraging the effect to do things that currently wouldn’t be possible. You’d be messing with system in ways we have never had means to do with intent and deliberate control.
So teleportation here is very powerful.
The toaster one might be very powerful- it depends on what it means by control toasters. If it is TOTAL control then this one is probably most OP of all. You could detonate a toaster like a nuclear warhead from anywhere in the universe. You could teleport toasters, combine toasters into sophisticated machines and machine intelligences… possible generate infinite energy… it’s insane. But if it means to actuate the user control interfaces of toasters it becomes less powerful but not totally useless.
Free gravel for life is pretty strong. As others point out, gravel can be expensive and… it again depends on details. Like- if you can just go to anywhere that sells gravel and there is no change for gravel that’s still pretty cool but not great. You still have to transport or pay to transport the gravel and your supply is limited. If you can make gravel appear as and where you want- that’s OP AF. Not only is that an incredible weapon,
not only is that great for home landscaping and construction, not only does it posses the ability to easily profit selling gravel- it goes deeper. For one thing, “gravel” is a catch all term for a broad materials category. “Gravel” can contain or be comprised entirely of valuable or rare materials ranging from radioactive materials to precious metals to elements used for refining into structural and other more processed materials. To say you could be rich is an understatement. You’d also be able to… literally change the planet. Create land masses where none exist above water. Counter act sea level rise or sinking ground level. You could possibly even create entire satellites or planets. You could create land bridges between continents and such- and open a geo political mess up- for example, certain disputed islands could be linked to a nations territorial land mass; you could extend the physical borders of a country and thusly extend the reach of their territorial waters further to sea
And of course- you could build up the shore areas and such of designated areas and then use gravel to displace the oceans and cause massive sea level rises that could consume almost any land mass on earth you hadn’t raised. Lots of crazy stuff.
Look 10 hours younger could likewise possibly be used cumulatively and several thousand uses could make you look a decade younger. You won’t be younger, but you’d look it, and people pay a lot for plastic surgery which often does the same or less and often is obvious. Of course… if we play semantics…. It doesn’t specify that you’d look like you DID 10 hours before. If you could look like you did 10 hours before that has some neat stuff but would preclude cumulative use as the 10 hours would be from the present time, since it says 10 hours younger, then it isn’t present time but 10 hours younger than you presently look and thusly can be chained. What is also critical there is that nothing there says you look like YOURSELF 10 hours younger. In other words….
Even if you do not or cannot use this cumulatively- you could by these criteria take this pill and look like Brad Pitt but 10 hours younger or a dragon that is 10 hours younger. The ambiguity there is would you look like Brad Pitt when HE was 10 hours younger or like Brad Pitt if he were 10 hours younger than YOU? Unknown. Regardless that one is pretty good if we interpret it as such.
The “run as fast as Albert Einstein” one… thy one depends. As fast as Albert Einstein currently could run? He’s dead so you wouldn’t move when you ran. As fast as he could run when alive? As fast as he can move? As fast as he is moving..?
All can be broken. If you can run as fast as Albert Einstein NOW- you can run at 0 miles per hour. That means that by running, you can completely stop. Completely. Even when you aren’t moving you are traveling inside the system of the earth and planets and universe. If you began to run and were suddenly at a total 0 speed… that would be interesting for science and likely deadly for you. But if it is as fast as he could run while alive- oh man. You’re fast. Was Einstein fast? Doesn’t matter. He COULD run at insane speeds- most of us can. It isn’t the electricity that throws you when you get shocked by high voltage- your muscles contract and rebound under full force. Normally your body prevents you from doing this to mitigate tissue and other damage…
.. because you have enough strength in your muscles that you could possibly break your own bones just by flexing. So Einstein could have ran ten, twenty meters in a couple seconds maybe, if his body didn’t stop him and allowed him to use his full abilities to release energy. So you’d possibly be able to run VERY fast in that case. Now- if we can run as fast as Einstein is moving currently- he’s currently moving at insane speeds. As we said earlier, the earth and the galaxy and so forth are moving. We don’t feel the movement as we are in that system and other reasons that prevent it, but we are moving with it. So his corpse is blazing across space at crazy speeds. So I mean… that one has potential to be pretty crazy.
Because some of these are so open ended and could possibly end in horrible consequences, I’d probably take teleportation and maybe gravel or look 10 hours younger. The former because I need gravel anyway but regardless of the stipulations I could make quite a profit off the gravel and it has potential to be a world controlling power- or the later because of the possibility it would allow essentially shape shifting powers.
Sell the gravel
I'd at least be able to tell if a container is empty
