I always thought it was gang related. A lot of the "South Side" members had it tattoo to their necks or hands.

I used to think it was a way of drawing the old Seattle Mariners logo that used to be on their ball caps. Now though I'm just not sure.

We all called it a Super S in my elementary school because some of us thought that it looked like the S on Superman's costume.

This was a thing in Sweden as well. I remember how all the cool kids used to draw these when we were like 8 years old. I wasn't one of the cool kids.

I did this back in my elementary in Hawaii. I'm not sure who started it, but I remember the boy who taught me how to make it was named Brandon. I always thought it meant superman.

This got banned at my school because all the teachers thought we were all in a secret gang it was the funniest thing to ever happen to us.

Any kid in school who did not know how make the "S" was tagged uncool. We did it in India tooo!!

When I did this at my elementary school, I got suspended for a week for drawing gang signs.
