I thought it was gonna be something about not going into cars because they have metal and you should live in the woods in a treehouse or underground where nobody can metal around you.
The sad thing is, a lot of people who listen to the popular music are the kind of people who usually ask "You don't listen to *something*? Wow you're so weird omg."
Yes, exactly They have the idea because, <insert your least favourite currently too-popular musician> is everywhere nowadays you have to know them and like them and know all of their lyrics by heart because what kind of person are you, really, if you don't, ohmygod, where do you live, under a rock??? Then, after exaplining you just don't like that musician, they usually act like you've just offended their mother, grandma and family goldfish, freak out and declare you a rude, musically-retarded asshole.
I've never had a metal fan go all opressive on me like this. They understand not everyone likes what they like, while the currently-popular-music fans.... they're just ridiculous.
The funniest thing is, though, the currently-popular-music fans, as you called them, expect you to know what's popular at the moment. Like, even if you try to be friendly towards them and have a conversation about a few months old hit, they go "omg, that's so out now! How can you even listen to it, it sucks!" while those few months ago they were going crazy when they heard it on the radio.
Like for instance the internet breaker, Gangnam Style. I find it ridiculous, but funny. With all the songs about partying and getting drunk and girls in bikini, this one was different, which is why I sorta liked it. Well, my classmate thought the same when it was in, but three months later, when it wasn't in anymore, he joined the "Gangnam style is stupid and ridiculous" bandwagon. Like, what? You loved it a while ago! You change your opinion like the other sheep and then scorn me for standing up for mine? Hahahahahaha NO.
