Well either or I just want to know will she take it out, wait till it eats it, or just toss in another. The "rat" will look at the other "rat" and tell it " You or me pal and I'm it's lover so who do you think will last?"
Yea, the mouse is almost dying from the anxiety, and the snake won't eat it because it's full, and if the mouse overcomes the anxiety and grows a pair, it will just kill the snake
i know im going to sound like an asshole but I'm going to say it. That is a stupid comment. I understand where you are coming from but it is a mouse. You are a human. Looking at a photo of the mouse. You have not tested its heart rate looked at various signs or anxiety or whatnot (sorry not a biologist here) I don't think you can judge its anxiety from a photo.
if you had a snake with a rat it wouldn't eat you've seen the change in the behavior of the rat or mouse and its clearly how an animal with anxiety acts. also, theres a good chance of the rat chewing on the snake after awhile and causing harm and damage to the pet. it makes me bananas every time i see some post about some random pet or zoo where a snake and mouse are pals.
The rat is a prey animal, and the snake is a predator, made to eat rodents. If I stuck someone in a cage with a bear, and the bear didn't eat them right away, it wouldn't make sense to say "oh, they haven't been eaten yet, they must be friends". I know it makes for a cute story, but it's just not safe for either animal. Sorry for the un-fun comment.
No. It's plenty big enough. I have the same type of snake and I remember when he was that size. It just means he isn't hungry at the moment. I'd be best for them to grab the mouse and store him in another cage for about a day then try again. Repeating the process every day should fix it.
given that the tank is barren, i suspect this individual uses a feed tank. some snake owners in an attempt to keep snakes from associating opening the cage with food, move snakes into a small plain tank to feed it and move it back after it eats.
It may not have eaten it because its not used to live food... lots of people feed their snakes frozen pinky mice that you heat up because its cheaper and you can stock up.. my snake only ate live mice and refused anything else
