yeah it sounds like this person thinks he is going to undo their citizenship, which you can't just do, plus hes got to deal with an actual constitutional amendment which are hard to change, and a president cannot just forcibly change the interpretation of it. its just a campaign promise he cannot deliver on to get the people who foam at the mouth over immigration on his side
Fallacious logic. Europeans weren't illegal immigrants because they predate a legal system like we have today. And, if you argue that's not the case, then the Europeans coming over and fighting native americans for their land is no different than native americans fighting each other for their land.
It's true. I used to be a huge supporter of trump until his ignorant ways steered me away from him. Although he may be able to fix the economy he has no proper and or intelligible plan to fix the four other major problems here in the u.s.
Although sometines his point is partially true. I'm afraid not that he is running but that he ia leading the poll. I always thought people would just laugh at him.....it is really sad.
You jackasses. Read up on the constitution. Congress can remove birthright citizenship anytime they want and it is completely legal. There is no reason to change or repeal the 14th amendment. If congress were to do this, it would not affect current immigrant children who have citizenship. It would only affect new anchor babies. Also, please note that I said congress, not the president. Trump can say what he will, but only congress has the power to make these changes.
And support who else? Bernie? Who has no clue what economics are?

So why say "Don't worry if he does get elected he ll get thrown out pretty damn quick"? If he gets elected and does nothing illegal but is still a shitty president he cant be "thrown out pretty damn quick"
honestly the whole donald trump thing has been scaring me a lot since day one, yeah my family and i are citizens but i also got family who aren't. so please take this as serious as possible.
I definitely agree with this post. The world Trump is trying for isn't one im interested in.
My vote is with Bernie =)
We need the change he is talking about. One of the few old white guys that agrees with everyone having rights.
*This isn't directed at any specific person at all* I feel bad for believing this but technically if you're an illegal immigrant then I think you should be sent back to your country. I think everyone deserves to be able to live wherever they want, but they should do it legally.

I dont think you understand how long and drawn out the immigration process is and how hard it is for people
I never said it justifies it. Its already been recognized that the immigration process needs improvment. Look at it this way if you and your family can find no work and it is exceptionally dangerous where you live do you stay there for a long time and wait or do you do something about it as soon as possible?

If you need cash fast, do you go and rob the convenience store on the corner?

Thats comparing apples to oranges. No you go do a job that you can get paid for as soon as its done for example wash cars or cut lawns or clean someones house or walk someones dog..... oh but wait technically thats not legal either...

Is this not explicitly justifying illegal immigration?

No it is not its merely puttig it into perspective... im asking what do you do not saying it is right
plus the big dirty secret is this nation depends on the illegals. if tomorrow all the illegals were gone you better bet you'll start paying double for groceries, and anything else from any other industry that is reliant on paying illegals almost nothing. i think to ever fix illegal immigration you gotta fix the industries reliant on it. immigration reform would just follow as they pushed for employees since even for true minimum wage you are not going to get a lot of americans willing to do a lot of those jobs.
@stoner
So you don't think their actions are justified, meaning you would support their deportation.

No i do not have to pick a side i can see some valid reasons on both sides. I can support legal immigration and be against deportation or the other way around. Only thing i will say im for is a revamping of the immigration process
WHICH IS ILLEGAL TO BEGIN WITH!
YOU CAN'T MAKE EX POST FACTO LAWS! This means a law that affects an action or condition which has already happened. Say there's a law against wearing white shorts. I'm already wearing white shorts when the law is put in place. I can't get in trouble because I had it BEFORE the law was done. But if I take it off, I can't put it back on. If you're already accepted here, we can't just unaccept you based on a previous condition.
sigh. his intent is stop FUTURE kids from being made citizens, hes not trying to deport anyone who already has citizenship. i cannot believe these comments are so bananas you are forcing me to defend trump.
As well as a few members on here. Youre right talking politics on this site is tiring and pointless. Some know nothing and some just know what they hear other people say.
Oh yeah ? If every illegal would go back to their country the native Americans would be super happy wouldn't they ? Uh I know more immigrants that work hard go to school get their own cars and survive without having half or any privilege aU.S citizen has, and I know so many U.S citizens didn't didn't graduate high school, have been in and out of jail, don't look for jobs or take advantage of their rights , there's so many that don't even vote and that's a privilege not a right .
In what way? There wasn't even a country there at the time, so the settlers weren't even immigrants.

definition of immigrant is a person who comes to live permanently in a foreign country. Just because it was not a country to you it was a country by definition to the native americans.
Native Americans didn't have a concept of land ownership, how the fuck did they define "country"?

Because the definition of a country is a nation with its own government, occupying a particular territory. They occupied an area (which they were forced to leave) and had their on type of government (i.e. chief, warriors, workers)
The vast majority were nomadic and had no permanent territory.
Besides, that definition is retarded, what definition of "nation" does it use that isn't a synonym for "country"?
And besides all of that, Native Americans still didn't have immigration laws. So even if I were to concede that the European colonization of North America was immigration it still wouldn't be illegal immigration.

Idk what your argument is but fuck you anyway stoner.
"So if a group comes here they can make their own laws and everyone has to follow?"
No, because there's a government there who controls the land and asserts authority over law-making in that land. (I'm assuming by "here" you mean the US.)
"I also meant to ask what is it you have against immigrants garlog"
I have nothing against immigrants so long as they go through the proper channels that the land they are immigrating to has established to deal with immigrants.

Janedoe, who are you? Garlog as far as your stance on immigrants ok i can understand you stance on it. As far as native americans and the land i still dissagree.
"As far as native americans and the land i still dissagree"
Well I don't know why, seeing as how my argument is so bullet proof, but okay. For the record I'm not necessarily justifying the entirety of North American colonization by Europe, but it would be much closer to invasion than immigration regardless.
Can I just say that this is NOT a legitimate reason to not support Trump? What this is preventing is ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS becoming citizens by default just because they HAPPENED to have a child after they jumped the fence. If the families are illegal, THEY SHOULD BE DEPORTED. They do not belong to this country. Now, do not mistake me for a Trump supporter, because that I am not. But get your priorities straight guys.
regardless of policy, what so many don't understand is the number of illegals we catch is based on funding... there is funds for x number of illegals, and the idea is to target to the higher risk ones instead of families just trying to get by. if you can only send one fifth of a population away, would you pick out the ones who are possibly going to do you harm, or do you go after children and people harvesting food and doing other jobs that frankly Americans don't even want anyways? he can claim he will send away illegals all he wants, he won't get the funding in the end, and the better place to start is changing business laws that create the system that is RELIANT on illegal immigrants in the first place.
My vote is with Bernie =)
