Nope, more like ''OMG I HAVE AN INJURY BLOOD EVERYWHERE WRAARRGHGRH''. There are a lot of animals who die of traumatic shock after being wounded. Humans on the other hand are less likely to get in this kind of shock and almost perfectly recover.
Is there an explanation as to why humans can handle such shock? Is it our mental state/condition or is it something with our bodies that can deal with it?
Some believe its because of our higher reasoning functions, as well as our ability to section off our mind to focus on other matters when necessary in some cases.
I know it is there behind me, I can still feel it. The elders had warned me about the human. But I didn't listen. I didn't care. Oh god... how I wished I had just stayed with them. I can hear it... I can see it. how does it manage to go this far just to get to m?. This is outrageous. I start running. That's it. I don't want to end up an experiment. All I can hear are the crunching of leaves beneath my feet, and my racing heart beat. I can't keep on running like this. I will die if I don't eat any food soon.
I can feel my lungs burning from lack of oxygen. I need to stop. I turn sharp corners to be able to get away. And still, I can feel it. I turn around. It's not there. The human is not there. I'm safe. Yes... I'm safe... I need help. I need treatment. I will have to do so tomorrow though. The sky's dark. I need sleep. Laying down on the ground, I cover myself with leaves, then... I sleep.

I open an eye. I look around. It is all calm until I see it. I freeze. I'm dead...
We just shout until the day we've changed our habitat.
Google that and enjoy.
Some of the best short story scifi I have ever read has been written anonymously and put online at one venue or another under that subgenre.
