but i love dog-earing the pages. and writing in the margins. it makes the books mine. i love worn books with pages that have been read so much the paper is smooth, and soft, and they have that old, wonderful, well-loved, musty book smell.
I dog-ear, highlight, and annotate books all the time (ONLY IF I OWN THEM.) Cliche as it sounds, it gives them so much more personality and even more stories to tell. New books just look and feel so stiff and unread, as opposed to books with notes and folds in them from being read, thought about, and loved. Plus, if my book ever gets sold at a garage sale, the next reader can see where I dog-eared pages I liked and underlined quotes, not to mention my little thoughts on the story.
I'm a monster, but I like folding the edge and then tracking how far I read from the last time by the end of it I have all these folded ends that mark my journey
Dog earing doesn't damage the book at its core, you can still read it and that is a books purpose. When the book is worn it's more personal if it's in mint condition there is nothing to distinguish it from any other book.
I will do that to my own books in front of people. Its my book, not theirs. Its more easier than a book mark. Im not going to go find or buy a new bookmark, so theres that
Having an abortion is easier than raising the kid, as well. (I'm not saying that I'm strictly pro-life, but just using it as a birth control is kida disgusting.)
Now the real question is, who here bends the book covers unintentionally?
