French toast is made with egg. This is bread, spread with butter, sprinkle on sugar and cinnamon, pop under a broiler until desired doneness

I think that's a white people thing because I've never had it. The Mexican version is tortilla with butter, cinnamon and sugar so I guess it's the same thing

I don't think its a race thing, i've never heard of it and im pretty sure that if it is a race thing the the poster is racist.

This was so good. If you didn't learn how to make it and enjoy it in adult life we can't be friends.

But why..? I want to be your friend...I can't make it here at home as cinnamon makes my hubby sick.... (; _ ;)

Hubby doesn't have to eat it. I guess if you could know you'd still enjoy it, friendness can be achieved. Also, that sucks that cinnamon makes him sick. Does he get sick just by smelling it too?

Yeah he does :( I'd love to try it as I loved cinnamon & sugar on pancakes (had them years ago at a friends house)

No, I'm the past. I used to eat toasts with cinnamon, sugar, and apple slices when I was a kid, like 35 years ago

Take piece of white bread. Spread some butter on this bread. Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on buttered side of bread, place bread on pan, pan in oven, top rack, turn on broiler, check often until it looks golden or before it starts to burn. Turn off broiler, take pan out (use oven mitts) and place bread on plate. Devour asap.

I do this- but I like to use tortilla shells instead of bread. It makes it much crunchier!

Mexicans do the same with tortillas, it's called bunuelos
