Like what? Wristwatches, wall clocks, alarm clocks, cameras, not-so-new phones and PCs, industrial control systems, remote cell towers, satellites, etc. etc.
Sounds efficient but kinda boring. I mean part of the fun of having changing days is that some times you get public holidays just before weekends giving you a longer weekend or when your birthday is on a weekend so you can party without work or school getting in the way
I like it. Sure people who have wristwatches in that "inbetween stage" of quality that does show dates but isn't able to be updated like an iWatch or whatever will have to get new wristwatches and that's unacceptable. I mean mine cost me $14 and who has that kind of cash lying around to replace something if it becomes obsolete?
Wall clocks don't show dates and if they do, it'll become worth a lot more to "Gregorian Calendar Collectors" once that becomes a thing, just like everything else that shows the date that can't be updated. But cameras, pcs, cell towers, and a lot of other things can for sure be updated, just not in the same way one would sync their tablet over wifi to update it or whatever. Anyways, I'm not saying it's a perfect plan, either. My birthday is on the 29th, so what happens then? Do all of the 29, 30, 31 birthdays get moved to the first of the next month? It has bugs, but generally in the long run, I can see some form of this working.
The definition of a month is the time moon orbit earth once. This may be convenient at first glance, but it really isn't. There are many things we can track down using the old system. Beside, do you like it if a certain holiday is always on the same day/day of the week? I don't. Also notice all the Friday 13th.
What's the rest of the list, Hood?Although trumpus is a good choice I don't think we should decide without hearing anythingelse. Also it's 2017 we don't necessarily have to do as the Romans did, I was mearly interested in how we got the ones we have... personally I'd rather not duplicate them,
The problem with this is that you would never meet the equivalent of 365.25 days around the sun. It also would mean that other types of calendars that are based around days of the week would all fall on the same day, and there's really noting to look forward to. Also, how would divide up the seasons, when is Winter Solstice, where would you put this new month.
