Some states don't work that way. If you sign away your rights then instead of paying the mother child support you pay the state child support and then the state pays that to the mother.
It's not just that. It's poor etiquette to bump such an old post unless you're bringing something interesting or funny to the conversation. People get annoyed when they get a notification that wastes their time.
And here is why I believe in EQUAL rights not just female equal rights. Men can be abussed they can be raped and they can be victims. Not a one is a whimp or coward or pussy they all are good, kind, strong men who was mistreated, used, and abused. And they all need just as much help as if they were female. But still there are no real places for them to get help.
I don't believe that true and in this situation you cant keep a guy from finishing...eventually it will happen even if its unwanted...you shouldn't speak about things you don't know...
They said it as a joke because there was a man named Todd Akin who flat out said this. He said he believed that in a case of rape woman's bodies have a way to shut down so they won't get pregnant and he even said he thi.ks a Doctor told him this. That was his answer after being asked on his opinion of abortion when the kid is from a rape.
sorry @mrscollector I didn't understand the reference. There are just certain situations that are deserving of sarcasm and some that aren't. Rape definitely isn't a jokey subject.
@robbouche This situation deserves to be referenced, and maybe even joked about, because in this day and age, it is absolutely ridiculous for anyone, especially someone in a position of power, to say such a thing.
This reminds me of the case of Mary Kay Latureanu (sp) years ago had sex with her student for pregnant, went to jail, student (father of child) had his parents help him raise child. She gets out then get a pregnant again by him, he comes of age. . They get married. She gets out of jail final time. Now married with children living their lives... I remeber this on the news as a kid. Crazy how things turned out.
Not enough information. Like age gap? Consenting? Rape or statutory? It a 17 year old who is involved with an 18 year old girl gets her pregnant then yes, he should pay child support. If a 17 year old boy has a relationship with someone much much older I don't think he should have to pay.
@ Guest - the child support is designed to (as the name implies) support the child, not support the mother. The child had as much choice in its conception and birth as the victim (or you could say other victim). by requiring the child support it is not intending to punish the victim even though it is a detriment to them, it is intended to keep the child fed/clothed/alive.
(Note: I am zero percent in support of the woman involved and hope that she was labeled as the criminal that she is and the child was put with someone who would give them a better life.)
But child support goes to the guardian, so unless the kid is a ward of the state (which has it's own set of problems), than the mom will have control over the money.
