Some plants already can summon wasps to defend them using pheromones, others can literally control the minds of insects. We know there are carnivorous plants, but how about the theory that plants actually have groomed humans and other animals to cultivate them? It's not as far fetched as it sounds. Plants could very well posses some form of intelligence beyond the most basic biology. Wether true or not, methods and lessons from exploring the idea could help us gain better tools for understanding life forms unlike ourselves, and be useful in finding new forms of life in the universe; and possibly even open doors to understand any intelligence we may encounter if/when we do.
