Once a year, a local aluminum company comes to my school to pick 100 seniors to get jobs at the aluminum plant. I heard it pays like 35 bucks an hour and all you have to qualify for it is to have a clean drug test.
Exactly.. everyone wants a blue collar job and wants to retire at 40.. and want to live at an elite spot in the city and such types...
Move to a reasonable place if things go bad..
Switch jobs if you feel insufficient.. Simple
What I would do for $12 an hour... Maybe then I could at least afford to move out. $8 is nothing. I make like $1000 a month, if I'm lucky. Probably closer to $600 right now.
We live in an economy that expects expansion. It will literally collapse if expansion doesn't occur. You have to decide between economic health or environmental health. Know that if you pick environmental health, 90% of the world is going to go against you. It's kind of like voting 3rd party in the US.
Anyway, yeah... it's gonna go the course of robots then a bloody revolution to cull the herd.
Our economy isn't building for expansion, its building for wealth. Companies hire less but raise their prices. It's much harder to find jobs that will actually pay enough for you to even live in a two bedroom apartment without a roommate.
I’m deciding on my health and not having a god damn kid. I don’t want to wreck my body/wallet/life and have a kid. Screw your economic expansion! I’m anti vagina expansion!
"The bureaucracy is expanding to meet the needs of the expanding bureaucracy." -Oscar Wilde.
Just replace economy and bureaucracy. Side note: I love that quote, it makes me chuckle every time I see it.
Less people means less demand for housing so prices will go down, same with education, and less people mean less labour supply so wages go up.
Problem solved.
