I'm just picturing Jesus dressed like Shakespear in a play.

I couldn’t even fathom how to read it differently then “God is nowhere” for so long. I stared until I finally saw “God is now here”.

Well... ok. So- humans tend to look for the thing that is odd, not the thing that is common. If we looked for things that we expected, we wouldn’t have the capacity to pay attention to things we don’t, which is a good way to get eaten by a bear as in the forest, trees are everywhere, bears are what your eyes are looking for. So the first thing you read this as could be the thing you DIDN’T expect to see. Coupled with the nature of memes as novel, and a stronger propensity for atheism or sacraligous/irreverent humor, it would be more logical to expect it to say “god is nowhere” given it is a church sign and there’s no humor or novelty in a sign that said plainly: “god is now here.” Lastly- the action isn’t technically wrong, as it simply says what you read is indicative of you beliefs and not that what you read the sign as first is directly your belief. Like an “ink blot” test- seeing a butterfly doesn’t mean you like butterflies. Or maybe you do? It’s subjective nonesense.
