I do not know who “he” is, although by context I must infer he is part of Nickelback. I also don’t know what song “Photograph” is let alone the lyrics- although I may just not know it by title, maybe if I heard it I might? But sorry, I can’t really say this meme hits close to home for me.
Look at this photograph ... that’s all the lyrics I know

It was one of three songs played on a loop at my graduation, and the band is from a small town in my province... my cohort knows all the works to a lot of their songs whether we want to or not!
I remember before hating them with a passion usually reserved for terrorists was the in thing (pre-photograph days), and literally every person you encountered had never made it as a rich man, been wrong, been down, AND been to the bottom of every bottle.
True fact: on the internet everyone hates Nickleback. In the Real World (atleast in Iowa) no one feels passionately enough about Nickleback to even mention it. And if you bring them up, you get responses like "yeah, they are okay" or "not really my thing" and sometimes "I don't mind them" No one really LIKES Nickleback, but no one hates them either. And when they get played like over the radio or whatever, most people don't really comment.
Ive never hated nickleback. I don't think they're the best but I certainly don't think they're the worst, and I never really understood where that even came from. Sure, a lot of their shit is generic sounding, but that's true of like 70% of the artists out there. Not sure why they in particular became the subject of so much backlash considering they're always on the radio so clearly SOMEBODY must like them. Maybe I missed the big controversy that made them terrible enough as human beings to warrant people throwing literal rocks at their heads
There really isn't/wasn't any controversy. From everything I read it was just that as a band they never really changed. They never "matured" as a group and their main singer never really matured as a person and still acts the frat boy rock star. That's literally the gist of what I could find out.
Look at this photograph
Every time I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red?
And what the hell is on Joey's head?
This is where I grew up
I think the present owner fixed it up
I never knew we ever went without
The second floor is hard for sneakin' out
And this is where I went to school
Most of the time I had better things to do
Criminal record says I broke in twice
I must of done it half a dozen times
I wonder if it's too late
Should I go back and try to graduate?
Lot's better now than it was back then
If I was them, I wouldn't let me in
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, God, I
Every memory of lookin' out the back door
I have the photo album spread out on my bedroom floor
It's hard to say it
Time to say it
Good bye, good bye
Every memory of walkin' out the front door
I found the photo of the friend that I was lookin' for
It's hard to say it
Time to say it
Good bye, good bye, good bye
Remember the old arcade?
Blew every dollar that we ever made
The cops hated us hangin' out
They said some
Every time I do it makes me laugh
How did our eyes get so red?
And what the hell is on Joey's head?
This is where I grew up
