Sometimes you just have to be forced to be better
Bc you're a little coward and can't do it yourself (please don't apply this to rape)
I'm terrified of height but I just had to get in a cable car and you know what? It was pretty cool
My cousin who is a introvert and kinda a wepp too will NEVER join any activities without me pushing her
And she's joining a club today thank to me
You wanna be scared and all curled up in your shelf or you wanna live your life?
"Hi, I know you have crippling anxiety, but I don't care about your mental health. Go have a panic attack in front of the classroom, be bullied for it for the rest of high school, and then eventually commit suicide so that I may be sad and talk about how much potential you had."
One of my friends had a break down in front of the class because her anxiety was so bad, and another had a seizure due to it from the same teacher. I don't even consider the second a friend anymore due to him being a prick.
If you're sound of mind, then by all means let the teacher force you. But if you have a mental/physical condition *with documentation of it*, then you shouldn't let any school do this.
even after graduating, I still don't know how to present things without having a panic attack. i never skipped out on one either, i was also terrified of bad grades.
Just think everyone is naked and that you're a whole meal
My father usually says "they're all dumb pieces of shit and have no idea what the fuck is going on so just bullshit your way outta there."
I've always followed his advice and I can tell you, for 21 years of my life, I've met so many people and heard countless speakers, I'm still one of the best and have been told to be one of the best
They do have a choice. A teacher is a person of authority- like a boss, or a judge. If your boss or a judge wants you to speak, you can say no. You always have a choice- do what the person in authority wants, or refuse and deal with the consequences. It’s simple and a valuable life lesson. Knowing when to do what and when a risk is worth it is part skill and part luck and the thing that separates a success story from a cautionary tale of foolishness. School teaches much more than hard and soft skills, school is full of lessons and just like life you ant control everything but you can come closest to controlling yourself. What you get, what you learn, is based as much on you as the school or life. Most people will have to face a choice to speak in front of a group, or face a penalty, so if you can learn to either do it, get out of it, or deal with the consequences you are prepared for the life you CHOOSE.
Honestly this terrified me a few years ago (especially after I've had an English teacher who would record us and then show it to the whole class). I used to not be able to sleep the night before and throw up in the morning (and shake, have a dry mouth and blush like a signal light when I was speaking). But it was necessary, because you need it in almost any job. At some point I wanted to be a paleontologist. Well this doesn't mean sit on a chair all day with your dead stuff. You need to be able to speak in public to get funding and continue your research. Same goes with about anything. So I cried, I sucked it up, and now I'm able to give guided tours and I'm very proud of that.
