The jaws of life is commonly referred to as the Hurst Tool. If I have my history right, Hurst (popular for car transmission shifters) designed the hydraulic tool in the 60's for NASCAR.

Properly implemented, a reasonably well mounted and constructed door isn't going to benifit much from one of these. Notice they didn't hit where it was
Not hitting it where it is is sort of the point, Adding another anchor point on the side that normally is only anchored by the latch bolt adds significant strength.
