If they can get to the volunteer, it could be an inside job and getting the nuclear football may not be that difficult for them

Trump isn't the only one with a huge arsenal of nukes. I'm not sure the likes of Putin would lose any sleep if he had to do kill someone to get to the launch codes.

It almost sounds like a good idea but if launching a nuclear missile was something that needed to be done we likely couldn't afford the hesitation this scenario would bring. It takes some serious training for military officers and non-coms to be able to order someone to do something they aren't going to walk away from it's unreasonable to expect an elected official to be able to do the same.

This is stupid - it reads as if this type of situation happens every week or so. If Mr Fisher thinks it so great, would he be the first to volunteer or is he suggesting someone else "volunteer "? Lazy "feel good" story.
