Y'all English people should stop acting like you have a monopoly on politeness. We're all awkwardly polite and do stuff like this.
There are two kinds of English people:
1) Slap both hands on both knees simultaneously OR
2) Half stand up and slap/pat thighs as if checking pockets to make sure you're ready to leave
In both cases you must say "Right" or "Right, then" otherwise it's invalid.
I don't know if it's other Aussies or just my family but we clap our hands together and say "ALRIGHTY!" or "WELL" or if we really wanna scoot "Anyways boys!"
