It depends on where the roll is placed. If the roll is directly to your right or left, it's actually easier to unroll if it goes under.

Outside is proper, anything else may as well be leaves in the woods you savages.

The proper way is to not replace it at all and just sit it on top of the empty roll from two years ago.

We have an up right toilet paper roll holder. So the roll is on it's side. To use it you take it off the stand take some paper than put it back.
Well I put it back my husband and daughter NEVER SEEN TO DO THAT!!!!
