That's funny. My friends and I used to bully the bus driver about that age, maybe a year or so older. After they gave the drivers gave us walking tickets, we'd run home about the same distance 3.5-4 miles as fast as possible, wait for the bus at our stop, then walk home with other kids from our stop and act like nothing ever happened...
She's 10, not 3 years old.
It's only 5 miles of walking, not climbing the damn Everest.
36°C is a very decent temperature for human.
And above all, she had it coming.
Given that the source is U.S. based, as is the actual story, I would guess that is 36 degree Fahrenheit, not Celsius. Still, as long as she was dressed accordingly, and he is following her, I just don't understand the big deal.
It was in the US, so it's probably 36°F. But that is still 3°C, which might be uncomfortable but it's not abusive by any stretch. It sounds like she definitely had it coming.
While I don’t think the punishment is too harsh I don’t think it was right of the dad to film it and put it on the internet as some kind of humblebrag about what a tough parent he is. Just parent your kid in private, no need to tell the whole world about it.
Maybe he’s always the guy talking about tough parenting and people always tell him it will be different when he has kids so he needs rock show them it’s not
Also, this was her second time getting kicked off the bus for bullying. She seriously needs to learn the bus is a privilege, not a right, and if she keeps fucking up she will just keep having to hike her butt to school
Seriously, why would you assume the bus ISN'T a privilege. You aren't entitled to free transportation to and from school every day. THAT is a privilege. If you screw up, abuse that privilege by making the bus a hostile environment, you no longer get that privilege and have to make your own arrangements.
Hence why it's a privilege to the parents or guardians since they're the ones those responsibilities fall under. Many students however hate riding the bus and can't wait until they don't have to anymore. Of course I rather enjoyed it in the morning since it allowed me to catch a 45min nap before school or do that homework I didn't do the night before.
@sunflowers Yes. There is no law stating a school bus has to exist, and there is punishment for abusing them. It's a privilege, and it's one someone can and should easily lose if they abuse it.
I only did the deed that would bar my privilege on the last day I needed the bus so I easily tossed it aside (see story below).
@lucky11 It got to the point where I needed the bumpiness of the bus for my 45 minute morning nap. Fuck getting up at 6:40 AM, jerking it in the shower and then leaving my house at 6:45 AM (before the fucking newspaper has been dropped off)... and having to cut through mud in neighbor's yards because the sidewalks in my neighborhood were idiotically designed! My freshman year I kept a blanket in my backpack instead of books... luckily the only book I needed was my algebra book because that's where the homework was. Algebra was 6th period that year though, so I had plenty of time to get it done in other classes. 1st period AP Calc? That was a BITCH. I should have taken AP Statistics my senior year, but JFC I needed a 1st period off after that bullshit.
I don't believe this parents intention was to be "some kind of humble brag". Perhaps he hoped his parenting skills would be an incentive to other parents whose children are bullies. Or maybe by displaying the punishment on-line serves as a stronger measure of punishment for his child since most children today, believe negative social-media exposure is severe punishment.
So he forced her to do something humiliating , filmed it and distributed it online and she was helpless to protect herself . Where do ya suppose she learned how to be a bully ?
You totally missed the entire point.
No wonder there are so many faeries springing up.
No I don't mean gay people. I mean faeries. Use the logic of that South Park episode about fags and harley drivers.
I once beat a kid with a pinata on a bus and then got off at his bus stop, made him walk over to the elementary school nearby and go sit in the large garbage bin.
I'd be so screwed now-a-days.
No I don't feel bad about it; dude had it coming and he's lucky I didn't do far worse, he can still use his limbs.
Anyway... Good job on this dad.
