Beans on toast is grand
What's with the hate?
I always find it ironic that British food is heavily criticised when American food is terrible by-and-large
There's loads of sugar in BREAD, of all things
No wonder your teeth are generally in worse health than ours
Our teeth are in worse health?! My friend, the English are famous for having ridiculous teeth! Also, while the food here may often be unhealthy, that does not mean everyone here is morbidly obese or even overweight at all. Furthermore, what you call "American food" is actually a wide variety of foods from multitudes of countries. And damn it, at least our food is good! We have variety! We're not reduced to beans on bread, toast, fish + chips, and grits like you are; we've got all kinds of fun foods with many different flavors other than "grey," "dry," or "fish." The food we are famous for eating is truly a melting pot; hamburgers, pizza, hot dogs, biscuits, fried chicken, steak, roast beef, corn on the cob, pork chops, pasta, salad, ice cream, apple pie, green beans, sweet potatoes, turkey, lobster, salmon, tuna, cheese, chili, gumbo, etcétera, etcetera! Thanks for reading haha
Wait, beans on toast is a real thing? I want to try it and I'm heading to the store in a bit. What kind of beans and what kind of bread would you use, @cakelover?
There's a difference betwixt British and English....
Anyways, here's a link regarding dental health to back up my point

Have a read; it's good
Regarding our "wonky" teeth: the Brits spend far less on cosmetic work such as teeth straightening than our friends across the pond
Regarding the variety of foods you have: I don't even know what "grits" are - if we have them here we certainly don't call them that, it's an American term; pizza and pasta are Italian and we have them here as well; meats are eaten all around the world; soft scoop ice cream was invented by a Brit; vegetables are eaten all around the world; and huge amounts of salmon comes from Scotland
I'm pretty sure that you Yanks don't have kebabs or curries in anything like the form we have here and you chaps are definitely missing out
@jasonmon any baked beans are good mate. The most popular brand here is Heinz
As for bread, we normally just use anything that's medium sliced. I like wholemeal - and you have to use real butter, not margarine
Just so you know @cakelover this wasn't supposed to be an actual roast or anything, I truly do not care what food anyone likes better and it was just for fun
My favorite is buttered grainy bread, topped with Heinz beans and cheese, then another slice of buttered bread. Pop all that in the sandwich toaster for cheesy, beany heaven!
@jasonmon also, toast your bread beforehand. Makes it extra yummy. You can also cut in viennas with the beans, and add a bit of herbs while heating it. Finally, sprinkle that shit with cheese. It's amazing.

Branston beans, on Hovis Doorstep, spread with Lurpak spreadable "lightly salted" butter.
