Omg :’) I knew some good would come out of keeping Tarzan, Lion king, spyro, harvest moon and all those favorites from ps1 I just could not let go of <3
This seems unlikely. The way they designed the PS3 makes this highly unlikely. They would have to build a PS3 board into it for it to work. The cell architecture makes emulation impossible.
The first PS3 were backwards compatible, but mine bricked after about three months, and the second gens no longer were. It's why I still have a PS 2, 3 and 4 on my entertainment center (PS2 would still play PS1 games)
Yeah, ps2 had backwards compatibility but then Sony turned into assholes with the ps3 and ps4, also use to be able to play online and not have to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber. They got greedy if you ask me.
They didn't get greedy, they just couldn't support the amount of players while providing a free service.
Since they started charging players to play online they had less security breaches and improved connection.
Xbox had a large audience early 2000's, they charged.
Playstation got an increase in players late 2000's. Attacks went up and PSN was down multiple times within every few months.
Nintendo recently started charging because DS sales and Switch sales are skyrocketing.
.
It's only reasonable for them to begin charging so they can find the people and improve security.
But you see, it does, because many games have soundtracks that have expired licenses it is nearly difficult to do so.
Xbox dealt with it during the early stages of the xbox one. You have to pay people to make an emulator that will support online gameplay and be able to perform better than the original console did.
They need money to add these extra features. theres also the fact that PS is a Japanese company and Xbox is American, many game devs and companies have shut down that you can't realy contact them for permission to make changes to the game and make them compatible.
There are many things that need to be done before adding a game for backwards compatibility.
