@mialinay I'm Afrikaans, and my grandmothers are Schröder and Schaff, who married strictly Afrikaans guys but my grannies spoke English mainly, yet had fathers with Dutch and German surnames... so somewhere in that circus the German possibly came through.
Afrikaans is basically the wussy version of Dutch which is the wussy version of German (I'm kidding don't kill me)
Do you have some sauce on that?
I didn't say they were English descent, I just said they spoke English. As far as I know, a lot are from Dutch descent as well...
You drag your aching legs forward. The blasting sun beats down on your forehead shining with a fine layer of sweat. Your tongue has swelled up in your mouth and you constantly have to swallow the thick saliva building up in your mouth. Your bloodshot eyes scan the endless dunes as your shaking fingers push against the hot unforgiving sand, pulling yourself up yet another mountain. Just as your muscles are about to give in to the dehydration your ears pick up a new type of sound. Instead of only hearing the lonely wind and russeling of falling sand you faintly hear notes. A sweet sensation fills your heart and you pick up the pace as it starts beating faster. Further and further you push yourself, vision blurring to only see the blue of the sky and red of the sand. You’re going to survive. People will find you. You are finally out of this hell. You hear the music, the wonderful, mesmerizing music, louder and louder as you pass the final threshold only to find...

A ring of display cubes, white and harsh to your eyes, holding up speakers. Frantically you look around for any sign of life but the only thing here is the speakers playing at full volume connected to solar panels. There is no one to help you. Crushed to fall to your knees and look up at the sky, if you had tears left they would fall, instead you only manage to gasp and heave dry sobs that drown in the music. This is the end.
@dovedee That..... That was very awesome writing/ storytelling skills you have there Mr/Mrs/Miss/Fig Newton,Tree,Flower,Rock, or what ever you identify as. Ya got a handy skill that can make you very popular, cause I like to escape reality by reading books or stuff like this instead of drugs/booze. But I still respect those who choose to do those to escape reality for a bit as long as it’s not ruling their lives. Sometimes that shit will get away from ya an then your life is no longer yours.
@dovedee well please make that dream into a reality!! I know I love it when I can escape reality for a min or couple of hours, the best in my opinion,. An I KNOW you will be able to help people like me do that. Hope ya have an awesome weekend my friend!!!
