One crown in W3 (by my 30 second calculation) is ~US$2. One septim is ~US$55 based on a few people's calculations (and my 30 second googeling).
Geralt gets paid around 250 crowns per hunt, or roughly $500, and the king pays him 3000 ($6000).
An early game quest in Skyrim will net your around 100 septims ($5500), and a late game one can easily be a few thousand.
This puts the dragonborn at minimum over 10 times more wealthy than our favorite witcher.
I got the value of crowns based on the value of copper in game. Probably very unreliable as the W3 plays currency incredibly loose, but even if you assume there's a deviation of 500%, my point still stands.
lets keep in mind that the dragon born doesn't have a job. he is a creature of myth and fate on a quest of world shattering importance, but he does not have a job.
