This shows that there is no good way to defend yourself against a person with a gun unless you have a gun yourself. This situation should have had far more bullets being fired to make sure everyone is safe.
Nah. Close quarters like that, plus the element of surprise? A knife would've been best. Slam it into the motherfucker's throat or belly while pushing his weapon down or to the side. Then rip the knife out and either keep stabbing, or seize his weapon and create distance. Then he either stays down, surrenders, or catches his own lead.
Though given the size disparity and his level of alertness, the man using his bare hands did the best he could in that particular situation.
On behalf of @captain_obvious @scatmandingo is using a thing called "sarcasm" to emphasise and mock the pro-gun people
Hence, I don't understand why he's been downvoted.

That's because of the gun nuts.
.
Btw: nice job presenting yourself as a super creepy psychopath again, @infamousone
@halfdeadhammerhead
Should he have tried to explain that murder is against the law, instead?

What are you talking about? If "he" refers to the white shirt guy: imo he did the best he could do in that situation, and you even agreed to that. Well, obviously after the inevitable twisted fantasy about shedding a lot of blood, of course. Dude, you are one sick puppy...
When an enraged bear charges you, pepper spray might work, but a twelve gauge will work a hell of a lot better.
When a man is bleeding out, hextend might work, but whole blood will work a hell of a lot better.
When building a bridge, suspension might work, but support pillars will work a hell of a lot better.
In CQB your bare hands might work, but a knife will work a hell of a lot better.
When you fight for your life, you do not fight fair. You use every advantage, any edge, and you act absolutely ruthlessly. Anything less and you will die. Your friends will die. Everyone counting on you and your friends will die. Maybe you can play nice when you're behind overwhelming force, but when reacting to contact you throw everything you've got at the hostile.

Task: answer the simple question "What are you talking about?" referring to your question: "Should he have tried to explain that murder is against the law, instead?".
Your approach: impressing us all with your skills as bear defender, paramedic, architect and expert fighter. Again. Though the architect part is new. Cudos!
Results: Medium high entertainment factor, however failed to complete task. Or even start...

I like to think the big man was just so OP and bad ass that he said to himself "damn, that's a nice gun. ... look at this pink, gonna get himself hurt with that gun. I should get that before a cop shoots him and takes that sweet gun. YEAH BOI! FREE GUN!".
I work security for a large warehouse and that person did exactly what they're supposed to do. Me and all my co-workers and 90% of security guards aren't trained for even breaking fights, when a fight breaks out in the warehouse my job is ensuring everyone else's and my own safety through calling the police and if it's safe for me to do so then to direct people what to do while calling 911. This type of security guard is unarmed unlicensed low wage and is just there mostly for security theater. That type of guard isn't personal police and holds the exact same legal power and obligations in emergency as any random person. The other 10% are rigorously trained licensed and often salaried guards that work at high importance areas. You can tell that it's this type of security guard if they're armed with literally anything including pepper spray (some exceptions for risky companies). Licensed security guards work at banks and stuff and can defend, but aren't obligated to security isnt police
