This is pretty misleading. The iron still costs the same, but the labor put into it is what drives up the cost.

I suppose balance springs for watches aren't made of pure iron. They would rust and the watch would probably go bad quickly. keep in mind I know nothing about watches, or even what are balance springs supposed to do, so I might be wrong
