It's almost like there is no way to ethically be a part of capitalism.

This is happening in China... which is a distinctively communist country with many of their markets nationalized and regulated by the government... so I'm not sure why everyone is crying "Evil Capitalism". Your also bashing an entire economic structure based on a single corrupt company, there are hundreds of Fortune 500 companies that dont do anything even remotely like this and donate millions to charity and in many cases actually pick up the slack where local government fails. How about the small businesses that are part of that same capitalistic market? The BBQ Parts and Accessories store down the road is part of the same market. Maybe, just maybe, this isnt a "capitalism" thing but rather Nike seeking out manufacturing locations in countries with communistic governments? The US is obviously a hardcore capitalistic society but... this sort of thing would never be allowed in the US.

No, this is a capitalism thing. The way this country operates its economy is a race to the bottom: the cheapest prices and the cheapest products as fast as we can get them. The byproduct of that is horrible labor practices that we turn a blind eye to because we like our stuff too much. Labor unions and the minimum wage kicked that stuff out of the US, but all that did was ship it overseas. Our economy is out of whack: theres no way we all should have tiny computers to argue on the internet with but still not be able to afford healthcare and housing.

I'm not really sure what's happening here but I believe they're NIKE's supplier, just like Foxconn as Apple's supplier. Again, I don't how much NIKE pay their supplier for each pair of shoes, maybe enough, or maybe not. What I'm trying to say is, it could've been the supplier's fault for not paying them enough. Or maybe I'm wrong.

Sooo... those same ppl don’t make the same shoes, work those same hrs, and get paid that same amount for Nike to pay for any of their OTHER spokespeople? ???? Y’all are funny. Either way it’s wrong...no matter WHO’S face is on the ad.
