Lolol these are so accurate. I have paper wasps and a cicada killer in my backyard. The first time I saw the cicada killer I freaked. I thought it was a Japanese giant hornet..
Okay hold up and lemme teach you something new.
A few weeks ago, we found some weird dry mud cocoons on my stepfather's balcony. One of them broke when we tried to move them and out fell - a whole bunch of spiders. More or less alive, but barely moving. So we did some research and it turns out that the Sceliphron curvatum (some kind of mud wasp) builds cocoons to lay eggs in, one for each, and then goes on to paralyze the fuck out of some spiders, putting them inside said cocoons (8-25 spiders per cocoon), and closes it. So now when their larvae hatch, they will have some fresh spider lunch to feast on. Yum. If anyone is interested, I took some pictures of the cocoons. Or just google it. Or don't.
They are! All you gotta do is extend a finger and they sit on it, lightly touching you with their tiny straw-mouth-thing. I have no idea what it's called in English. A sucker, or siphon maybe? Idk.
I actually got bit by a bumblebee when I was a kid. I went to hug my mom and didn't know there was a bumblebee on her back.
It stung like a motherfucker.
Fun fact, the reason why bumblebees are able to fly despite their wings being "too small for their body" is because their wings create little vortices in the air which propel them upwards
