So, a man named Tarrare was a circus freak. He could eat and eat and eat but would never gain weight. He ate anything the audiences would give him and more, ingesting corks, baskets, and all manner of food items by the thousands. He eventually enlisted in the army but didn’t fight. He did soldiers chores and I return they gave him his rations. Eventually he went to the med bay and started to eat... other things. He would eat the gauze, bandages, and stuff. Eventually it was found out that he was drinking the drained blood of the patients and eating corpses. He was discharged when a 14 month old baby went missing. I think the title sums up what people thought happened
Someone tried to cure him by chaining him to a chamber pot so all he had was a place to poop and pee and couldn't get to anything to eat. But he ate his own poop and drank his own pee. He was uncure able.
What's also horrifying was that his skin was always yellow and his mouth was like rubber, it could just stretch and stretch and stretch. People said it was like yellow fish stuck to his face, all slobbery and loose. Disgusting. This guy was the definition of freak of nature. I have nightmares about him
He suffered from an illness called polyphagia, he couldn't help it.
