The pursuit predation thing iirc is not limited to humans "walking." We're actually exceptional at running for long distances, partially due to our various traits that help us cool down. We can sweat, which is a HUGE advantage. We can also breathe well through our mouths even while running. Most other animals lack these adaptations, making them great for quick bursts of speed, but terrible over long distances.

Running/jogging, humans were adept at chasings their prey until the prey eventually collapsed or died from heat exhaustion (or, sometimes, heart attacks iirc).
