Yeah it's not like philosophy has gotten us anywhere in the past or anything.
Honestly I've never seen more hate and spite towards thinkers than from code monkeys who think they know everything about the world because "muh practical skills". Practical application is important. But thinking is also important. Progress can't happen with just one.
Is that directed at me? Cause I see how philosophy is definetly important. Just wanted to point out that you won't find philosophers working at hospitals.
@mialinay Nah just a general observation. And I'm glad we agree on the basis.
@m Oh look a Schrodinger's douchebag, haven't seen one of those in a while.
All Ph.Ds have a doctorate of philosophy. The Ph.D stands for Ph-ilosophiae D-octor. It denotes that one has become an expert (in theory) in the "philosophy" or knowledge base, theoretical framework, etc., of a particular field. For example, psychologists are doctors of philosophy in psychology.

Like a Bachelor of Science or Art isn't actually a science/art degree
Well, don't worry everyone. I sure did learn a valuable lesson. Though the original picture was for a diploma that said "doctor of philosohy" and I made a joke about how doctors of philosophy shouldn't be doctors in hospitals, it apparently was so offensive that it launched into a theoretical discussion of how people want to always be right and take offense about everything. So in short, the lesson I have learned is that instead of engaging with such an uptight and self-righteous community, I should instead just enjoy the pictures and save my breath for those who actually matter. So this will probably be my last post on this site.

Self righteous people get offended too easily, so when my joke falls flat I'll write a long comment about not posting on a meme site anymore.
As mialinay said, it was too painfully unfunny to be a joke. I think everybody can pretty clearly see through your act, that you decide whether to try to pass something off as a joke based on other people's reaction. If they agree, then it was serious. If they disagree, it was just a joke and "stop getting offended bro, why are you so offended by a little joke?" As I said, Schrodinger's douchebag.
Google is amazing.

And way to delete everything. Well okay then. You do you.
