Condoms break, pills are ineffective, iud's fail... Hell even vasectomies have been documented spontaneously healing.
I agree! But many abortions could have been avoided by correctly using birth control. And even if an abortion "solves the immediate problem" (horrendously callous expression), it causes physical and emotional trauma to the woman who goes through it.
And I agree on that @snowbeast. No woman WANTS to get an abortion. They get them out of necessity. Sometimes there’s the implication that some want to use it as their primary method to avoid parenthood but that’s completely specious. It’s expensive, physically painful, and emotionally traumatic. Birth control really does fail such as the pill not being effective when antibiotics are being used (my first child) or an IUD that actually falls out undetected (my second child).
I agree @scatmandingo. I would think the trauma of having an abortion is a deterrent for most women - but I'm very glad the option is there for most of us in the western world.
