A restaurant in my area did this 20 years ago. It works great.

Wouldn’t they get soft or soggy or something?

Not at all. It was pretty thick and cold liquids don’t seem to have the same effect as boiling it.

Why is it so difficult to simply drink from a glass?

I get ulcers if glasses aren't washed properly. So on outdoor locations i rather have a straw. Bring my one reusable tho.

Cool, a restaurant in my neighborhood started doing this in like 1960 and no one's reported on it. They still do it too

I feel like this will recreate the steel straw massacre of 2019 but worse cause it will break into shards
