Well, considering there are no concrete or stone foundations visible under the posts, I don't know if the deck will be still there after two weeks of rain, but the wood as such looks good though!
lol. True- but we do have to take some things into account. If they live somewhere that is dry (the grass is green but that could be landscaping and not reflect natural climate) rain may not be a serious concern. For instance- many people in the American South West own cars like roadsters without roofs or folding tops at all- because there is so little rain it is a non issue by and large. The foundation could also be sunk if they chose to spend the money for the aesthetic, or the ground could be particularly solid on that location. But good eye- and I suspect you are right.
Thanks! And just adding that sunken foundation is an option here, but I am severely concerned of direct soil contact of what appears to be untreated wood posts.

Agreed. And even treated wood doesn’t last forever- especially in humid climates, damp soil, etc. So I think there is enough evidence to hope this person knew what they were doing- but suspect they might not! Lol.
