i mean i get it, institutions and rules are the chains we make to keep ourselves in check and santa is a microcosm of that, just oofing cuz jeez that's a really spiky idea i don't wanna have in my head right now, (i promise i didn't downvote you creativedragonbaby)
It’s ok, I understand that religion is a very important thing to some people but the fact is that there are less and less priests and nuns, and more atheists
Well just because there is only so many priest and nuns in the world and so many atheist doesn't mean anything. There is no solid proof one is right or wrong.
We just have to believe in what we believe in and look into ourselves to figure out if that is what we truly believe.
Religion isn't just a Catholic thing. It is all believes. Even Atheist have taken on a form of religion. It's not truly just a lack of religion. If you look at all religion as a belief system Atheism is a belief. They belief God doesn't exist and never did. Some even believe he once did but is long gone.
And I don't think religion can ever go extinct I think it is just going through changes. We are growing and starting to think maybe God never was out for blood he loves us and just wants what was best for us.
I have been on the atheist side I lost belief and found it again. I think all should question their beliefs. But I would never tell someone their belief is wrong. Even if they believe in the faerie folk.
Or try explaining to the child the truth is Santa doesn't deliver toys like he did when. The world only had a small amount of people. Since there is so many children in the world he he gives now is the Christmas spirit. He puts warmth in your heart when loved ones are near. Sometimes you won't get that new shinny toy you been hopping for but one day you will get something you truly want. If you had everything you ever wanted you be happy for a while but get bored of things.
That is why Santa let's parents give the gifts but so he can deliver the love.
Here is also a good idea what we do. When we know Christmas will be small Mrs. Clause gives gifts.
See we used to be on food stamps. So by squeezing our food stamps we would be able to buy cookies, cakes, and brownie mixes. Add frosting and sprinkles plus special snack treats. Like my kid loves funnions and easy mac.
We wrap them and write from Mrs Clause. It makes the gifts seem more. And it gives them a chance to learn to cook.
Don't tell other parents that they should take the magic of Christmas away from their kids just because they can get their kids the more expensive gifts. What you need to do is make your kid see it's not about the gifts that are under the tree but the holiday its self.
We always have a birthday cake and sing Happy birthday Baby Jesus. I remind the kids in my Sunday class the true reason Santa gives us gifts is to remind us that Jesus was a very special gift to us.
If you don't believe in Jesus that is fine just explain how Santa wants us to remember that it's not about the gifts we get but about the giving gifts. That is why he gives gifts to the world. Yet doesn't ask for any himself.
When kids grow older they will know the truth that santa didn't leave that iPad that took an extra job to get.
Or did he give those small toys that year when time was rough and Daddy lost his job.
They will know what you went through to get them every hard earned gift.
But till than assure them that Santa is real and loves them. And yes they were good.
Make up a reason their friend Timmy has a new bike but they only got their older siblings bike.
But don't tell another parent that how they give gift to their kids is wrong because other kids can't have them.
Why make another kid think Santa doesn't like them just so another thinks santa does. How about find a way to make both feel special.
P.s. sorry for the rant. Just the first Christmas we were able to spend alot of money on our daughter she was 8. And it equaled to around 400 bucks. We were so happy to be able to. But my sister in-law was broke at the time and couldn't afford any gifts for her daughter yet her daughters Dad got her about 1000 bucks in gifts. But she wasn't getting that till after Christmas. So her mom and the kid was coming to our house for Christmas. We was going to give the kid a few toys from us.
When they got to our place the mom told the kids to go play than went to the tree and yanked all the from santa tags off the gifts. Said if Santa can't buy her kid gifts he can't get ours any. I wanted to kick her the fuck out but we didn't due to her daughter. But as the gifts was handed out I made sure to tell my kid Santa got her the gifts. And I told her kid we got the gifts we gave her and I bet SANTA left her gifts at her dad's. He must of been confused where she was. Lmfao made her mom so mad.
